I strongly believe that healthcare should be considered a human right. All other rights hinge on this. After all, what are our rights if we are not healthy enough or even alive to enjoy them. The inequities in our society are not easily addressed but in healthcare, it should be simple. Everyone should receive quality healthcare when they need it regardless of their income. Like in most things, when we as a society pool our resources and collaborate, we can afford great undertakings. Here in the United States, we need a single-payer healthcare system to take care of all our citizens.
Single Payer in Washington State
There are several groups that have been working toward Single Payer in the State of Washington. One recent group has decided to take the idea to the people for a vote. There will be an effort in 2020 to bring Universal Healthcare to Washington State via Initiative. Several groups are likely to collaborate on this effort.
