On April 18th, 2017 in Washington’s 43rd LD, Democrat PCOs will be voting on whether to give the membership the power to decide on endorsements of non-democrats (in non-partisan races). At present, members are not allowed the option of non-democrats for endorsement; restricted by the organization’s bylaws which are at the will of the PCOs. The threshold for endorsement by the membership is a daunting 60%, so no matter who is allowed to seek an endorsement, they must have strong support to receive an endorsement. I do not personally see a good reason to continue curbing the power of the membership. I am excited to have the opportunity, as a PCO, to vote for the interests of the membership.
